pumpkin patch!!!

Yesterday, we continued our "family tradition" of going out and getting pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. this year we chose salisbury farm for our location. our old roommate matt (who just got married) and his wife ari came as well as our current roommate lisa and our old neighbor sara. hudson came along too (he LOVED the farm so much that he cried when we left!).

these are photos that sara took on our adventure. i'll post mine when i get them on the computer. here are lisa jon and i on the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. (above)
good times!
here are jon and i with our winning pumpkins!
after our hay ride back to the main barn to purchase the pumpkins we picked out, we had a family photo (above L to R: jon, sara, me, lisa and matt - ari was cold and waited in the car!). after our family photo, matt, ari and sara went home while lisa, jon and i stayed and conquered the corn maze!!! it was amazeing! :)

i'll post more photos in a few days . . . you know me . . .

what are your fall family traditions?

a june wedding

this is my big sister sara and her man-friend pete. they got married this june. i am FINALLY BLOGGING ABOUT IT. these two are so totally in love. it's ridiculously wonderful.

their wedding was an epic DIY event. bridal gown made by a friend, flowers bought at the farmer's market and put together by another friend, bridesmaid's dresses made by the bridesmaids themselves and the cake was made by another friend. the groom and his groomsmen wore kilts in the family pattern. we all showed up early to help set up the tents and put up the final decorations. the details were all pretty simple. and so very perfectly THEM.

the ceremony was held in the round in the park at mt tabor. a good friend of the couple officiated. my sister was radiant. pete was soooo handsome. sara practically glowed as she walked out of the tent and toward the canopy.

they are so in love . . . . i love how her little ankles are poking out from under her dress.

we had family come from all over to be there for the wedding. the bride and groom flew to oregon from oklahoma, our sister deborah flew in from alaska, we flew out from rhode island.

what a great celebration of love, family and life!

p.s. sara and pete are expecting a baby!! guess who gets to be the godmother????
