for real?
i make graphs for my boss. you know graphs/charts/etc in excel.every month i chart out where we are as compared to the previous years in the same month.
today, SHE just started flipping through the notebook that we keep the graphs in and says to me . . .
PV: tell me about this graph. what does it mean? i can't figure out how to read it.
ME: see these words that are the names of months? those represent the months of the year. see the key here on the side? it tells us which of what color and style each of these lines that go across (here, see the lines?) here represent which year. see these numbers that go up the side here? see how it says "number of jobs" along the side too? that means these numbers represent the number of jobs. so, if we follow (for example) this one (look over at the key, oh, it represents 2006) it will tell us how many jobs we had in every month in 2006. if we wanted to compare jan 2006 to jan 2005 we would find the line that represents 2005 (based on the key, it would be this one). see how many more jobs we have this jan than we did last jan?
PV: well, that's a silly graph. it seems too complicated.
too complicated? they teach you this crap in 6th grade!
she's supposed to be the "office manager"! she can't even make the graphs in excel! that's why i am doing it . . .
just thought you'd like to know . . .
p.s. she still hasn't cleaned up the ramen nooodles she spilled in the microwave (again) yesterday.
