train (wreck) of thought

so, the husband and i are slowly getting ready for our trip to germany . . . we've even been to REI so i can get a new backpack for the trip! we've been in several times trying to find the best pack for the trip and for my body. we finally settled on a plumb colored gregory deva women's pack. we had to re-size the arm straps (smaller) and waist bands (bigger . . . poopie) . . . so we are waiting for them to arrive . . .

anxiously.

with bated breath.

we also stayed up until 2am playing scrabble with some friends on friday night. i won. but that doesn't really count because by the end, i was playing tiles for three people (because they pooped out) . . . i didn't cheat with their tiles, but i still won.

one of my sisters graduated from high school last weekend. she's moving to oklahoma to go to school. i'm gonna miss her.

we went to a portland timbers soccer game this weekend . . . i really enjoyed it. i think i could be more of a soccer fan than i am. plus the games are only like $10 for a ticket.

i am thinking about checking out a baseball game soon too . . . the portland beavers . . . i don't know, they don't sound very exciting.

sunday we went to a book reading at powells books. author (and revolutionary) brian mclaren was reading from and speaking about his new book the secret message of jesus. it was a beautiful, revolutionary conversation about how social justice and the kingdom walk hand in hand . . . i got goosebumps several times . . .

working on finals right now . . . almost done with school for good!! (until i decide to go back again . . . why am i so addicted to learning??)

say it don't spray it 11:51 AM
