SASQUATCH (revisited . . . sheepish grin)

"it's about time!" you must be thinking . . . yeah well . . . i sort of had some stuff going on (sister's wedding, finals, etc) . . . and loading all these pictures takes a while.

so . . . sasquatch fest back in mumblemumblememorialdaymumbleweekendmumble was AWESOME! so awesome in fact that i would like to revisit it right now!

we left thursday night at about 10pm and drove all night out to the gorge. after getting lost because the guy with the directions to the campsite was sleeping, we found our campsite, set up the tents and fell asleep by 6am.

our tents, clothesline and the view . . .

in the morning, jon made us breakfast . . . pancakes and eggs -- nice!

we were right by the river . . . which had its ups and downs. fall asleep to the lapping of the water, go to the river for water to boil and wash the dishes or to take a bath . . . but it is WINDY on the gorge . . . results of the wind to be seen later.

the music didn't start until around 5 or so that day, so we had all day to set up camp, play, do crossword puzzels, play badmitten, get caught in the rain, try to start a fire, hang our wet clothes over the fire to dry and to CATCH MY HUSBAND's PANTS ON FIRE! (good thing he wasn't wearing them!)

he did, however, wear them for the rest of the weekend. crazy.

he also did all of our cooking for the weekend. he LOVES to cook while camping! he made us this yummy veggie dinner before we headed off to the shows! tofu burger patties with roasted trader joe's (frozen) vegetables and a lentel and kidney bean middle eastern mix thing from tj's as well.

mmmmmmmm . . .

so then we went to the metal/goth day of sasquatch . . . bauhaus, wolfmother, whatever . . . bauhaus was actually sort of entertaining . . . it was like watching "the rocky horror picture show" take itself way too seriously.

anyway, by the time nine inch nails came onstage, i was exhausted . . . we had been awake for over 24 hours, then slept for about 4 and were awake camping all day . . . i was TIRED. so i listened to a few songs and promptly lay down on the cement and fell asleep. i woke up for the big finale though . . .

then we waited in the parking lot forever to get out and drive to our campsite (no way were we camping at the festival camping spot for $44 a night. ew. we had an awesome spot by the river for FREE!!!)

----thus endeth day one of sasquatch revisited----
