and then it was monday again.

wedding: good.
bride: beautiful.
seeing my friend joey for the first time since last summer: awesome!
stuffing myself with wedding food: not a good idea. tasted good though.
i'll leave it to niki to post the details on her blog. she'll do it the best.

cousin's graduation party: fun. good cheesecake.
we got lost on the way there though. my dad wanted to take a "shortcut" which ended up taking an hour (my mom got didn't know where she was going and she was riding in my car). so, we stopped at starbucks and asked for directions. mostly because i wanted, no scratch that, needed a caramel macchiato (i don't think i spelled that right) to calm my nerves. i can drink that and drive as opposed to other, nerve calming drinks.

Headphones concert: great. the doug fir lounge always makes me feel like i am partying in my grandparent's house. i got to sit and talk to my husband while we each "bought each other a round." it was strange to see david bazan sitting at a keyboard, wearing a dickees trucker style hat though. he still sported the classic black one pocket tee. i had to keep reminding myself it wasn't pedro. the sound was different, but the lyrics were still just as blunt. perfect. t.w. walsh still drums with his mouth, i love it! it's like when you are feeding a baby their mashed up food, you can't help but open your mouth as the baby does. t.w. does that when he drums. ba-ba-boom-bad-a-bah. with intensity.

getting ready for THE PARTY: my 13 year old sister spent the night at our place. she helped us clean up the apartment and i paid her back by giving her a massage. it worked out well for everyone. our attic room looks soooo much better than it did last week! we haven't realy done much in that room since we moved in. it was sort of "um, i don't know what to do with this stuff . . . i'll throw it upstairs in the attic and deal with it later." now everything is organized. a friend of ours gave us her old green and gold bureau and i used it to store all of my art supplies and set my easel up next to it. it looks awesome! we got some area rugs to save the floor from the nasty scratching of the rolling office chair. my husband moved our recliners upstairs too so we have a new armchair downstairs and our recliners upstairs for some cozy reading time . . . anyone who has seen the before and after will tell you: it looks awesome!

the PARTY: jon's mom showed up early to help us get ready. she brought us roses from her garden! "the inner circle" showed up around 4 and we had some quiet, catch up time with them. the "crowd of the masses" began showing up around 6 and it turned in to quite a party! the grill was hot, the food was good (and interesting! it was a german theme!) and the friends were wonderful. jon LOVED his gift! *(Thanks to those who contributed! it was perfect!) and we spent some time putting jon on the spot with words of encouragement and praise. that rocked. our families and some friends stayed and helped to clean up (so i didn't have to do it all myself! thank you!) and the night ended with a sigh and a very clean apartment (i thought i'd be picking up the pieces for days). to those who weren't able to come and celebrate jon's graduation with us: we missed you and hope to catch up with you soon! to those who did come: it was great to see you! come back and visit again!

and then is was monday again . . .
