i'm glad that's over

i used to work for this guy who had this constant, nervous blink.

and he lied about everyone. he never had anything good to say. he made up stories about people like his old employees and stuff and told them to me, hoping i would be sucked in to his little world of drama. it drove me nuts.

and he wouldn't buy nice coffee for the office, so i brought in my own (my husband has turned me in to somewhat of a a coffee snob). and he calls me in my office from his cell one afternoon to tell me that he is expecting some clients and "i'm going to need you to go ahead and brew some of your nice coffee for them" . . . and because i don't stick up for myself i went ahead and brewed it, all the while brewing resent inside of my head.

and he was horrible about paying us on time (he was the owner of his own business), so i never knew if my rent check would be late or not.

and he told me he needed to "cut costs" and "downsize the company" by "letting me go," but when i interviewed for a new job somewhere else, he told them that i quit on my own decision partly because i was going back to school and because the drive was too long (i wasn't going back to school! i didn't make the choice to try to find a new job--not that i am angry that i don't work for him anymore, mind you). but there he went, lying about me just like he lied about everyone else.

and it took him over 2 months to give me my final paycheck--and i KNOW that's illegal. final paychecks are supposed to be issued at the end of the week that an employee is let go. and he knew i was poor, was looking for a job, and had bills to pay.

yeah, sometimes i pretend all that never happened.
