tomaayyto/tomaahhto, let's call the whole thing off
last night was my first night of massage therapy school. i got home from work at about 5:30 fully prepared to rush around in order to get of the house and to class by 6:30. instead, i was greeted by a
wonderful smell. my husband had made me dinner! he really likes to use our wok when he cooks and he makes a mean pad thai, so i was pretty excited. he had made stir fry this time around. the vegetables all looked beautiful. the dark red in the peppers and the bright orange in the carrots and the purple of the onions.
the vegetables were poured over rice noodles and served with a yummy/spicy concoction of 'secret' sauces. (soy and peanut sauce no doubt). we sat down with our chopsticks and bowls of yummy yum yum and just as i went to pick up my first carrot my husband asks . . .
"when you stir fry do you use zucchini . . .

or cucumber???"

"zucchini," i replied.
"that's what i thought."
"why do you ask . . . ?" i wondered as i looked into my bowl a little closer . . . "you used cucumber didn't you?"
"yes"
the carrot shot out from between my chopsticks and landed back in my bowl.
mmmmm . . . warm cucumber. i politely ate them all. my husband did not finish any of his.
i suppose it would be easy to mix them up . . . sometimes i get confused as to whether his grandma's last name is thomas or thompson, because his uncle's last name is the other one . . . whichever one that is. but i'm not sure if that is the same thing as confusing zucchini with cucumber . . .
oh well, i brought the leftovers to work for lunch today. yummmmmm.
say it don't spray it 9:02 AM
